Athletika Sports and Fitness: Raising the bar in Livonia

How is Athletika Sports and Fitness raising the bar?

The trainers at Athletika Sports and Fitness have a passion for weightlifting, and want to share their knowledge with you.  Athletika Sports and Fitness offers weightlifting programs for various ages including high school weightlifting and Olympic lifting.  A pre-test and a post-test evaluation will be conducted to measure progress of the athlete before and after the program.  The evaluation is also a necessary component to determine if the athlete is ready to begin a weightlifting program. 

Weightlifting for High School Students

Our high school lifting program is designed like a collegiate lifting program with workout cards and progressions built in to accommodate the athlete’s progression.  Each athlete will start with an orientation by appointment before training to assess overall athletic ability.  Each athlete will have a hand written program.  Programs will be written with a tier system format, so that every athlete will have a full body workout every time they come in with emphasis on a main body part. An ending assessment will follow after the athlete completes a training cycle.

Olympic Weightlifting

Our Olympic Lifting Program focuses on Olympic lifts and lifting variations to improve individual’s abilities to advance in Olympic lifting.   There will be a pre-test and a post-test evaluation to measure progress and determine the ability to perform Olympic lifts.  We are not a “Crossfit” gym and there are no unsafe WODs where Olympic lifts are performed for a massive amount of reps.  Individuals that are training will be provided with a workout card to keep track of progress and advancement.

Each lifter will have a hand written program.  Programs will be written to specifically improve overall performance in the Olympic lifts.  These training sessions are coached by trainers that have a solid background in coaching Olympic lifting.   An ending assessment will follow after the athlete completes a training cycle.
