Speed and Agility Training at Athletika Sports and Fitness

Every athlete’s goal is to improve at their sport and compete at the highest level.  Some athletes play a variety of different sports, but they lack certain aspects to reach their individual potential and excel past their competition.  At Athletika Sports and Fitness we evaluate movement patterns and train athletes how to move more efficiently.  Each class includes a dynamic warm-up, sport specific footwork, running mechanics, and strength training. 

10U (Youth) Speed and Agility Classes

The main emphasis of the classes are to work on running mechanics and sports specific footwork.  Our typical training week includes a Monday/Tuesday emphasis on linear acceleration, Wednesday/Thursday lateral acceleration, and Friday/Saturday “make-up” days and or introduction of a new skill.  Progression is built into every program.  In order to keep younger athletes more engaged our trainers will usually include some type of game that is built into every session to support that days training.  It is important for the young athletes to learn these proper techniques as early as possible.

Monday-Friday 5pm – 8pm

Saturday 9am-12pm, 4pm-8pm

11-14U (Ages) Speed and Agility Classes

Each athlete will start with an orientation by appointment before training to assess overall athletic ability.  The main emphasis of the classes are to work on running mechanics and sports specific footwork.  Our typical training week includes a Monday/Tuesday emphasis on linear acceleration, Wednesday/Thursday lateral acceleration, and Friday/Saturday “make-up” days and or introduction of a new skill.  Progression is built into every program and the coach will target sport specific footwork to train the athletes accordingly.  An ending assessment will follow after the athlete completes a training cycle.
