Personal Training

Where to start?

Are you intimidated by the idea of trying to get yourself into better shape? If so, you are not alone. The commitment of time, energy, and fear of failure can be overwhelming. More importantly, how long have you been waiting and wanting to get into better shape? And how much longer will you wait before you make an investment in yourself?

The good news is we’re not a gym. We don’t offer memberships that you can make monthly payments for whether you show up or not. We also won’t bribe you to come with foods full of carbs and fat that directly contradicts the reason why you train in the first place. We have a very simple recruitment theme, you’re safer and most likely to succeed when you’re working under the supervision of a trained professional.

If you’re a fitness novice, you will need guidance and someone to answer all your questions. Is it better to run on a treadmill, bike, or use an elliptical? Do you stretch before or after you work out? Why am I not losing weight even though I workout 2-3 times a week? At Athletika Sports and Fitness, we are here to answer those questions, help you reach your goals, and so much more. Reaching out and giving one of our college educated and certified trainers a call or stopping in for a visit is your first step in ensuring your success.

Fitness Assessment

At Athletika Sports and Fitness, we have a very comprehensive approach to personal training. Rather than a one-size-fits-all mindset, we take the time to learn about you – your long- and short-term goals as well as your current fitness, health, and nutritional habits. We also take into account your age, body composition, and gender to develop a fitness plan tailored to your specific health and training goals. After we design your training regimen, we’ll still be by your side to support you, motivate you and help you reach your goals.

It’s not a quick fix, it’s a way of life

The exercise and dietary advice we will provide for you is meant to be a lifestyle plan, not an overnight fix. After meeting with our trainers and agreeing on realistic and functional goals, we will develop a program that will fit your lifestyle and give you all the tools necessary to gain discipline and achieve results. If you find that your training regimen is not yielding the results you had hoped for, we can re-evaluate your training and nutritional plan and make modifications. No matter what stage you are at, our staff will always be there to help you achieve your goals, improve your form, and provide you with health tips.

Personal Strength Therapy

Personal Strength Therapy sessions are 1 on 1 sessions with a trainer certified in RPR (Reflexive Performance Reset).  A pre-test and a post-test evaluation will be administered to evaluate progress and determine goals of your training program.  RPR training is very unique and allows you to truly see the power the body has from within.  There are various “trigger” points in the body that need to be stimulated to allow one to improve posture and strengthen the body in the correct ways.

Once your body is “reset” it is necessary to engage in strength training to strengthen the body to maintain proper posture.  You will not only look better from training, but the most important component is that you will feel better as a result.  Common aches and pains will disappear, and you will feel like a new person filled with energy and excitement to tackle every task in your way.

Each client will start with an orientation by appointment before training to assess goals and overall fitness.  Strength therapy is different than any of the programs because we even look at posture and any weaknesses that a client may have.  Specialized techniques are used to treat clients to help them fire their muscles in proper sequences to promote proper adaptation.  Once a client's posture is reset they will undergo a strength training regimen to build areas of weakness to improve any imbalances one might have.  Clients will be given an evaluation several months into their program to assess progress throughout their training.
